The crowdfunding campaign for “Unfinished Sentences,” the latest film project by Mariel Brown, was lauched this past week on Indiegogo. Mariel, whose film credits include “Inward Hunger,” the award-winning,”Smallman,” and “The Solitary Alchemist,” is the writer, director and producer of the film.
About “Unfinished Sentences:”
This film is personal account of Mariel coping with the loss of her father, Wayne Brown, a well-regarded writer and poet, in 2009. “… as an artist, I felt utterly compelled to make the film in order to make sense of a very difficult period in my life: the years following my father’s death. In the film I unearth the complexities of father/daughter relationships, the power of the bond of love, and the gift of art and literature which, at its best, can connect the generations and help us make sense of our lives.”
Logline: “A writer father and a filmmaker daughter walk the fine line between adoration and disappointment, success and failure, family and art. Until he dies and, in her grief, she discovers his poetry and prose transcend death, allowing her to hear his voice again and find a way back to her own self.”
